Hi all! I'm back again. In this post, I will tell you a little about what learning is like at Yupparaj Wittayalai School. Oh yes, I was placed in the EP & IP Program. First, I want to tell you, there is something that makes me a little sad. To be honest, when I came to this school, the chemistry teacher who taught in the international program was not available, he resigned. Therefore, the EP and IP programs are temporarily taught by Thai Chemistry teachers. Chemistry teachers for the EP and IP programs will arrive in early August. So while I observe regular Thai classes with Teacher Nisa and sometimes I attend biology classes with Teacher Arnell while waiting for the chemistry teacher EP & EP Program to come.

So, from the information I got, in the first week what we did was observation, then the second week was teaching assistantship, the third week was teaching practice, and the fourth week was evaluation week. In this post I will discuss the activities in the second week when I was a teaching assistant.

Teacher Arnell and Teacher Nisa's Class

In this teaching assistantship I took part in Teacher Nisa's chemistry class and Teacher Arnell's biology class. These two teachers have different characteristics and ways of teaching. Teacher Nisa teaches chemistry casually using her Thai language. She applies conventional learning by combining competition. Yes, it's a Team Games Tournament (TGT) with bell aids. I found Teacher Nisa's class to be very enjoyable for a chemistry class. I myself, who was only a teacher's assistant at that time, really enjoyed the class. The Learning Sources used by Teacher Nisa come from school textbooks. She prefers to write it back on the whiteboard while explaining it on the whiteboard. Yes, chemistry learning should not be separated from writing directly on the board so that students understand better. For the assessment, Teacher Nisa used practice questions and questions from the TGT. In this second week phase, I only helped Teacher Nisa around the benches helping students who were having difficulty understanding the lesson. Here is a little snippet of how Teacher Nisa's class takes place.

Teacher Nisa's Class (TGT Method)

Meanwhile, in the biology class with Teacher Arnell, where he is a biology teacher in the EP & IP Program, he uses English as the language of instruction, accompanied by 1 Thai co-teacher who helps translate using Thai. Teacher Arnell's class is quite quiet and the students are paying attention. In teaching, Teacher Arnell uses PPT as a learning medium, he applies conventional lecture learning methods. I remember at that time he explained about diffusion and osmosis in cells. Like Teacher Nisa, he also uses school textbooks as a learning resource and thematic tests as his assessment.

That's more or less the pedagogical content that I can share with you in this post. Hopefully it can be useful!
