How's My Practice School: Yupparaj Wittayalai School?

Hello! How are you guys currently? I hope you are always in good condition and healthy! Yass, I'm back here again and will tell you how my school was in Thailand.

In the SEA Teacher Batch 9 program, I was placed in Chiang Mai, Thailand, with the receiving university being Chiang Mai Rajabhat University and the school where I practiced teaching at Yupparaj Wittayalai School.

Yupparaj Wittayalai School was the first public school in Chiang Mai. Established in the year 2442 B.E. according to the royal policy of King Chulalongkorn, Rama 5 in expanding education into the provinces to solve the problem in shortage of personnel and management needs Education for the unity of the nation by issuing a “announcement of tuition management in the provinces” on November 11, 1898.

Yupparaj Wittayalai School located on 238 Phrapokklao Road, Si Phum Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province.I heard from people like driver Maxim, local residents, food sellers, they said that this school is one of the best and biggest schools in Chiang Mai. Yes, that's right, I think so too. This school offers English and International Programs and regular programs with Thai as the language of instruction. This school consists of 6 grade levels, Matthayom 1 to 6. In Indonesia, this school is like a combination of middle school and high school. Imagine, that's huge for me. The building is spacious, the field is wide, two large canteens, it would take a whole day to get to know the contents of this school. At this school there are also a small museum, temples and statues of founding figures which I think are unique because not all schools have them, especially in Indonesia.

This school has very good facilities, in fact I thought at first this was a private school, not a public school. The classrooms are very comfortable to use for studying, clean, well lit, good air circulation, and even equipped with air conditioning in each room. In each class there is also a projector that can support learning. Some classes also have sophisticated whiteboards, such as screens. I call it a digital whiteboard. At the public school level, perhaps only a few schools in Indonesia have such facilities. If I could go back in time, maybe I would want to move to Thailand and study at Yupparaj to be able to experience facilities as comfortable as this hahaha. So here is a photo of the class, Teacher Arnell's Class (Biology Class).

Other facilities at this school that support learning include a well-maintained soccer field complete with spectator stands, volleyball court, basketball court and badminton court. Apart from that, there is a dance studio, school health unit, place of worship, canteen and a large hall. I'll show you how huge the soccer field is.

This video was taken from 4th floor. It was a big day, Yupparaj Sport Day. There was a parade to celebrate the peak of this event. I hope the video quality is good enough huhu.
Alright, enough for today. I will share another things with you on next post. Stay tune!
